Malbhog Sira — Flattened Rice

Not all Sira is the same. This one has a name.

Malbhog Sira is made from the Malbhog rice grain — one of Assam's most loved aromatic varieties. Light, soft, with a faint natural nuttiness that generic flattened rice simply doesn't have.

Soak briefly, drain, add curd and jaggery — breakfast is ready. No cooking needed.

A staple of Assamese jolpaan, and a fixture on every Bihu spread alongside bora saul, akhoi, and xandoh guri.
